Kitchen Hips
Folk & acoustic band from Los Angeles, CA
Kitchen Hips is the moniker of songwriter and folk musician, Aerienne Russell. Alongside Evan Hemsley, Russell makes melodious music steeped in hominess, heartache, and nostalgic whimsy. As a self-taught musician with deep family roots in Appalachia, her music speaks to a simpler time, like the songs of The Carter Family and Connie Converse with a pinch of Lee Hazelwood’s wry wit.
